Week 35 | Baby shower Haul | Hospital bag question

Hey Friends and Family!

Excuse the worn out look, growing a baby is exhausting by the end of the day!

This last week has been crazy busy so I'll just get in to the update!

Saturday was my baby shower at the church's fellowship hall near my mom's house and I got to catch up with all the ladies I grew up around :) I have a few pics that one of the ladies in attendance took with her phone (I took my camera and completely forgot to take pics, so hopefully I'll remember for the shower at my mother in law's house this weekend!) Here are some of the pics she took (I don't post pics of any of the ladies because I would never post pictures of other without their permission)

One of the games we played wash present Bingo :)

Measuring me for the guess my size game

Praying for me and Teagan and blessing our lives together.

Here's one of the amazing homemade items I got :)

So here is some pics of all the things we got at the shower :)

Wholy cow right!?
As you can see were were BLESSED at this shower! Here are a couple more close up pics:

We also got her stroller and car seat (it was mailed to our house) but I didn't carry it upstairs for the group pic

As you can see from the pics we got ALOT of goodies! Teagan now has a really good start to her wardrobe. I loved all the homemade items such as blankets, both sewn and crocheted, stuffed toys, hats, headbands, and closet organizers just to name some. One of the coolest things was getting things I didn't register for because I never thought too. For example I got some burp cloths and lots of socks and was like "why didn't I think to register for those!?!?" I'm having a baby in the winter, socks should have been thought of haha and hello burp cloths! My clothes thank the beautiful lady who provided those! I also really appreciated that the clothes were lots of different sizes and not just newborn or 3 months, so Teagan has a good start for the next two years! (that's right we got some 24 months clothes!)  If you notice I also got coupons! These ladies know me so well! They will be VERY Helpful purchasing the last few needed items over the next couple weeks and all that savings adds up!

So that was my Saturday morning; lots of love and blessings and fellowship with a great group of ladies. Then that NIGHT I joined my hubby at his 10 year high school reunion. And that is when I got my VERY FIRST set of swollen ankles and feet. (the place involved ALOT of standing)

Sunday was my maternity shoot with the hubby with my great friend from elementary school. If you need a great photographer in the Phoenix area (they travel too!) that has great prices then check out THIS site. I should be getting those pics in a couple weeks, so if I get posting permission from them I'll posting some of those!

Monday we unpacked all the goodies you saw above and basically spent the day doing laundry, and organizing all the things we got into Teagan's room. (room reveal coming soon after this coming weekend's baby shower!)

Tuesday was errand day, we ran around getting some odd jobs done and kind of vegging out at the house. We also took the cash gifts and bought a couple items for Teagan's room. (I'll post those items in the room reveal)

Wednesday I had my doctor's appointment where I had my strep B test and the regular check up (more on that in the developmental update) went grocery shopping for the next couple days put together the stroller, worked on one little project to add to Teagan's room, and got some house chores done.

Thursday Then this brings us to today. Basically today is another packing day, I'll be packing up a bag to take with me this weekend, start on a hospital bag for Teagan, pack the car (including a car seat now!) and getting ready to go back up to Phoenix tomorrow. (hence today's post)

As you can see I've had a pretty busy week! and that's not everything that went on, for instance, my kitties have been at my parent's house having a grand old time this whole week being spoiled. Bruno got some weird tummy thing going on so we had to take him to the vet and now he's on some meds for the week to help him out (he acted sick until we got to the vet, then he acted just fine and begged for belly rubs from all the employees there).

Developmentally:
This is the LAST week in my 8th month! As of Saturday I'll be entering my 9th month of pregnancy and with that comes limited travel aloud... it also comes with me going up north for my last baby shower at my mother-in-law's house but I don't think Teagan is ready to come out and I promise to behave after this weekend!

As I stated above I just had my doctor's appointment yesterday and had the strep b test (look it up) and will get those results next time I go. I also had her heartbeat checked like usual and it's normal. Also I've gained a pound and a half so I'm at 19 and 1/2 pounds gained in 35 weeks. Teagan also is no longer measuring a head, she's measuring at 35 and 1/2 weeks so right on time! (its weird, I don't gain weight, she measures ahead, I gain weight she decides to measure on time...) Next week's appointment they will do an ultra sound to check her positioning and if she's not positioned right they will talk options to move her into the right position or other options (c-cection), but I'm pretty confident it's feet I keep feeling in my ribs so her head should be down :) On a side note my doctor said I should start packing a bag for the hospital just in case (more on that in this week's question)

Teagan should now be around 18 1/2 to 19/12 inches and about 5 1/2 pounds. If born now, she would be considered early term but would need very little medical intervention and would probably only need a day or two extra in the hospital for observation. But! I've told her to stay in for a lot longer and continue to put on weight and grow.

Symptoms:
Its finally happened kinda I still don't have cankles but I have been getting swollen ankles and feet by the end of the day and little sausage toes (I guess 19 pounds is the cut off weight before I start to swell haha) So I have to start relaxing between all my errands and house chores or my feet and legs start to kill me.

I still have my back pain and heartburn (I'm really looking forward to that going away after Teagan comes... hopefully).

And I think its important to note that I have NOT been having any labor symptoms yet. This is a question my doctor continually asks me: contractions? NO, Leaking? NO Loss of movement (Teagan) No ((she moves around SO MUCH)) etc So I'll start including these each week if they happen!

Question time!
Ok so I've now been told that I need to pack a hospital bag and have it at the ready at all times now that Teagan can make up her mind to come any day now. So here's my question:

What did you pack in your hospital bag/s? Did you just pack a baby bag? or one for you, baby, and hubby? What are the ABSOLUTE needed items? I don't want to over pack and bring my whole house with me!

So this coming week I have my last shower up in Phoenix, packing of the hospital bags, doctors appointment with ultra sound, and another post at the end of the week where I'll tell you all about it!

Until Next time!
Bre and Teagan (the bump)
