Hey Friends and Family!
Holy cow I can't believe week 38 ends after tonight! Tomorrow will be the start of my "last" week of pregnancy! (Last in the sense of I'll reach 40 weeks and her cook time will be done... but if she's like her dad then she will be late just like he's late for EVERYTHING) This week hasn't been too exciting, just really busy. This week isn't going to be too long, I'll just say how my week was and incorporate all the normal stuff into each day as it happened.
Monday I had the sonogram to make sure Teagan is ok with my lack of weight gain and make sure she's still growing. I'm happy to report she's doing just fine! She has a strong heartbeat and was estimated to be at 6 pounds 14 ounces. And fun fact this is more then I weighted when I was born (and I was late), so I'd say weight gain is just fine. However it should be noted that this is just an estimate based off her measurements, she could weigh more or less. So basically there is no worry about her size, and as far as my size goes they aren't worried as long as she's doing good. On the fun side we got a 3D picture of her!:
Tuesday was my OB appointment. This week I lost another half pound so I'm at 17 1/2 pounds in 38 weeks, BUT I think it should be noted that this weeks' appointment was the earliest appointment and I hadn't eaten yet... AND right after the appointment I made the hubby take me to IHOP so I could stuff myself... just saying... They also checked me to see if I was at all dilated along with all the normal checks they do. AANNNNDDD I'm not.. not even a little... so she's pretty content in there, but she is still in the correct position!
Wednesday we ran a bunch of errands and I had my chiropractor's appointment. Now let me just get on my soap box and say how I totally recommend a chiropractor to anyone (not just pregnant people) they are great and I know for a fact I would not have done as well as I have been (especially with my back pain) without my chiropractor. Anywho, I got adjusted and when we were trying to figure out when to set up my next appointment for (can't predict when she'll come out) we came to the conclusion that in two weeks (I've been going every two weeks this last few months) if she's not born yet she'll be overdue anyway. And my chiropractor told me there is a special 20 min adjustment he can do that will help move her into the right place and make my body ready for birth... not necessarily inducing labor, but encourages it with the moving me and the baby into the right place... kind of like.. hey you are in the right spot.. your mom's body is all ready... take a hint tiny human.
Thursday and Friday were kind of a lazy days as I'm not supposed to be going to far out anymore or anything too strenuous. But that's good in a way because I feel like I've kind of hit a wall. All that energy I've had (ha! if you can call it energy) is just kind of gone and I feel like I could just sleep all day. Teagan seems to be moving around enough for the both of us! BUT I do have to note that I have been cleaning like crazy.. AND NO I'm not nesting. I'm at WAR!!!! with flies.. yes flies. I love my house, I love my neighborhood, I love my dogs.. I love rain, but those four things together equal either mosquitos or flies. We have gotten quite a bit of rain the last couple days, and if not rain, just the gloomy conditions. Behind my house is a walking path that also doubles as a retention basin so when it rains I get standing water... AND to top that off I have dogs that poop... and when it rains its too wet to go outside and pick up the poo... well with all those conditions I've been fighting flies out of my house this last week! The only way I can really get them is to vacuum them up! But in the meantime I've been cleaning my kitchen and living room and windows to discourage the flies from trying to make a new home for themselves! My mom suggested today using vinegar so we'll see how that works!
So that's my week! Next week I'll be in my 39th week of pregnancy! which means my due date is NEXT SATURDAY (7th)!!! AAAAHHHH!!! Any of you want to make a guess as to when she'll actually come? Closest person may get a present from me!! Baby McCabe watch has officially started!
Happy Halloween to all of you who take part (I'm handing out candy so the hubby doesn't eat the three bags we bought) Also here are some pics of the pumpkins we carved :)
Until next time!
Bre and Teagan (the bump)
